Spain's Anti-Fraud Law requires billing software to record every receipt so it cannot be altered: chained to the previous one, with a QR code, and sent to the AEAT.
Under the current calendar it is mandatory from 1 January 2027 for companies and from 1 July 2027 for the self-employed. Always confirm the dates with your accountant.

Verifactu for hospitality: FAQ
What is Verifactu?
The Spanish Tax Agency's system so every invoice or receipt is recorded and cannot be altered: chained, with a QR code and sent to the AEAT.
Do I need to change my POS?
You need software that complies with Verifactu. If yours will not be updated, change in good time.
Do I need internet?
To send the records yes, but not to charge: the receipt prints with its QR and the record is sent when the connection is back.
What do I need to switch it on?
Your business's legal name and tax ID and its digital certificate. We set it up for you.
How much does Verifactu cost?
€5 a month, on top of the plan you choose. It covers the servers and upkeep for sending your records to the Tax Agency.
